United ring the changes

Hastings United player-manager Sean Ray is set to ring the changes for the Ryman League Cup tie at home to Lewes tonight (Tuesday).

With the all-important FA Cup fourth round qualifying tie at home to Blackfield & Langley just four days away, Ray is poised to rest a number of first team regulars.

Lee Carey and Jack Dixon are likely to play some part after missing the 1-0 defeat away to Carshalton Athletic in the league on Saturday, while Scott Manning, Matt Whitehead and Liam Upton are also expected to feature.

But Ray has named several members of United’s Development Centre squad in a provisional 17-man line-up which includes himself.

Teenage goalkeeper Joe Winchester is in line to make his senior debut for United, and could be joined by Charlie Elgar, Andy Hales, Khaya Nyathi, Aaron Parris, Brett Patton, Sam White and Scott McDonald.

Parris scored at the same stage of last season’s competition to complete a 2-0 win at Sittingbourne. Admission is £5 for adults adults and, as usual, free for under-21s. Kick-off at The Pilot Field is 7.45pm.

United and Lewes are 16th and 17th respectively in the Ryman Football League Premier Division table. Both teams have seven points, although United have played two fewer matches.
