The U’s will make the long journey to Whitstable Town eager to make amends for the woeful 3-2 local derby defeat away to bottom-of-the-table Eastbourne Town on Saturday.

Although they’ve lost five of their last eight games, United remain in the final Ryman Football League Division One South play-off spot of fifth with a seven-point cushion over the teams beneath them.

But they need to start producing results and performances on a consistent basis as we approach the last month of the season, starting tonight in a fixture that was originally due to be played way back on November 2.

Whitstable enjoyed a great run in the FA Trophy prior to Christmas, but are only 19th in the league with just 10 victories - exactly half as many as United. The teams are yet to meet this season with the return match at The Pilot Field scheduled for Easter Saturday.

Elsewhere tonight, Westfield will be hoping to pick up three points on their travels for the second successive Tuesday as they visit AFC Uckfield in Sussex County Football League Division Two.

Although Westfield won 1-0 in a local derby at Bexhill United this time last week, they have lost four of their last five games to sit one place and two points above Uckfield in mid-table.

Lewis Parsons will return for Westfield against an Uckfield side which beat them 2-1 in October’s reverse fixture, but Ross Williams and Ross Markham remain sidelined by injury. Both matches will kick-off at 7.45pm.
