Following heavy rain throughout yesterday, the playing surface at The Oaks was checked this morning and will be looked at again at 3pm to decide if the Parafix Sussex Senior Challenge Cup second round tie can go ahead.

Currently lying 19th in Ryman Football League Division One South, United play their football two levels above an Uckfield side which is fourth in Macron Store Sussex County Football League Division Two.

Westfield, meanwhile, are also due to be in action tonight with a Sussex RUR Charity Cup third round tie away to East Preston. That match is scheduled to kick-off at 7.30pm.

The Westies are 11th in Sussex Division Two, while EP are fourth in Division One, although they’ve recently lost manager Dom Di Paola and several players to Hastings.

Westfield are hoping to welcome back the likes of Steve Thomson, Mike Booth, Ross Williams and Tom Archer as they seek a repeat of their victory away to Division One side Eastbourne United AFC in the previous round.
