U’s tackle league cup action

Another busy Tuesday night of football lies in prospect with three local teams in action.

Hastings United will begin a run of three consecutive cup matches with a trip to Sittingbourne in round two of the Ryman League Cup.

The U’s are 18th in the Premier Division with 10 points from 12 games, while Sittingbourne are 14th in Division One South with 13 from nine.

United have failed to win any of their last six fixtures in all competitions and have scored just two goals during that sequence.

Elsewhere, Sidley United will seek to build on back-to-back clean sheets when they travel to Lingfield in Sussex County League Division One.

Scott McDonald is expected to return from illness for 11th-placed Sidley against sixth-placed Lingfield, while Marc Munday is battling to shake off a broken rib and Steve Morris came off with a pulled groin on Saturday.

Bexhill United will be gunning for a fourth straight win in all competitions as they entertain Eastbourne United AFC in Sussex County League Division Two.
