U’s to field full strength team

Hastings United plan to field a full strength side for the Sussex Senior Cup fixture against Pagham tonight (Tuesday).

The big FA Cup second round clash away to Harrogate Town might be just four days away, but the players need game-time following the postponement of the weekend trip to Lowestoft Town.

Although Bradley Goldberg would have missed the Lowestoft game, United’s leading scorer is expected to return from injury in tonight’s second round tie at The Pilot Field.

Danny Ellis is likely to miss out with a slight injury, while Tom Vickers serves the second of a three-match ban. The Lowestoft postponement, in fact, means Vickers will now miss the Harrogate encounter.

Ryman League Premier Division outfit Hastings will be hot favourites to progress against a Pagham side which plays its football two levels further down the non-league pyramid in Sussex County League Division One.

As things stand, the match is expected to go ahead despite all the rain of the last few days. Kick-off is 7.45pm, and admission is adults £5, under-21s free and no concessions.

Sidley United’s hastily arranged Sussex Division One match at home to Lingfield tonight, however, has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
