ARUNDEL Football Club suffered late heartbreak as Rye struck two late goals to pinch a point in a dramatic climax at Mill Road on Saturday.
Mullets led 2-0 with just two minutes remaining through second-half goals from Russ Hardwell and Scott Tipper, but conceded a contested 89th-minute penalty, before Rye rescued a point deep into injury-time.
Arundel manager Simon Butler admitted throwing away two points was “absolutely gutting” and felt the turning point came with 15 minutes left after an unsavoury incident.
