After losing away at Dorking Wanderers on Boxing Day, Peter Buckland’s side were hoping for a return to winning ways at Gorings Mead.

That never materialised as the hosts suffered their heaviest defeat of the campaign, whilst also losing their unbeaten home league record.

Nick Sullivan’s opener was cancelled out nine minutes before half time by Grinstead front man Sam Schaaf to send the sides into the break all square, before Schaaf completed his hat-trick in the second half to help the Wasps run out convincing winners.

YM manager Peter Buckland said: “It was very disappointing. I asked for a big response after Thursday’s game and I thought for most of the first half I got it, but in the end it’s our first defeat in the league at home and it hurts.”

At 2-1 down Nick Sullivan headed a golden chance over at the back post before Scott Johnston tapped home from a poorly defended corner to hand the Wasps some breathing space.
