In the Sussex County Football League the whole fixture list has almost completely been wiped out, with only Saltdean v Oakwood and Westfield v Seaford on at the moment.

Many Ryman League games have also fallen foul of the conditions, although Horsham’s trip to Ramsgate was still on at 2pm with the team and fans travelling across to Kent. A large number of West Sussex Football League games have also been rained off, including the local derby between Cowfold and West Chiltington.

It comes as more bad news for officials across all the local leagues who already faced a backlog of games to rearrange following one of the wettest seasons in recent years.

A number of other sports have also been affected with Horsham Rugby Club calling all of their games off because of waterlogged pitches.
