‘We’ll bounce back’ say United

Hastings United head into the bank holiday weekend with assistant boss Ben White convinced they can get their stuttering early season back on track.

The U’s endured a miserable week which saw individual errors contribute to a 1-0 loss at home to Chipstead and then a 3-1 reverse away to Redhill.

They also picked up several injuries and a “massively harsh” red card with Jordan Johnson receiving his marching orders inside the opening half-hour in midweek.

United will travel to Burgess Hill Town in Ryman Football League Division One South today (Saturday). Two days later they will host Hythe Town.

“We’ve got some good characters in terms of players and staff, and an experienced group of players and an experienced group of staff so we’ll bounce back no problem,” said White. “I’m convinced we’re a good side and convinced we will compete this year; there’s no need to panic.”

Frankie Sawyer (hamstring) is the biggest doubt, while boss Terry White returns to the dugout after missing the last two games for personal reasons.
