The Mullets face Hailsham Town in the semi-finals of the competiton at Shoreham’s Middle Road ground on Tuesday (7.45pm).

Arundel have struggled against Hailsham this season, suffering a 7-0 defeat in the Sussex Senior Cup and a 7-2 defeat in County League Division 1.

Stuart said: “We have played them twice this season and, over the two games, it’s an aggregate score of 14-2 to them.

“We have picked up some decent results this season but those two games were probably the worst.

“I think everyone wants to put right those disappointments against them and what better chance to do so than in a semi-final?”

Arundel have already been denied a cup final spot after suffering a penalty shoot-out defeat to Eastbourne Town in the Sussex RUR Cup.

Stuart said: “I felt we deserved to beat Eastbourne Town in that semi-final.

“We just didn’t take our chances in that game and it cost us in the end. I think everyone wants to put it right by reaching a final this time around.”
