Albion lost in the 1983 final to Manchester United and that is the only time they have progressed further than the quarter-finals.

Brighton head to Championship strugglers Millwall tomorrow and Murray knows both sets of players will be raring to go with a place at Wembley up for grabs for the winners.

He said: "It's a great opportunity for us as players. As a player you always want to progress in cup competitions.

"Our first priority is to be safe in the Premier League but off the back of that if we can have a successful FA Cup run, I'm sure the fans would appreciate a day out at Wembley.

"It could turn out to be a successful season for us.

"But we make no bones about it, we know it's going to be a very tough game.

"There will be no VAR there, it's going to be a physical game and they'll be ready for it. But what a great incentive for both clubs to try to get a day out at Wembley."
