West Sussex sides discover FA Cup, FA Trophy and FA Vase opponents

The Rocks will begin their FA Cup and FA Trophy campaigns at home - while Pagham could face Chichester in the FA Vase.

The draws for the early rounds of all three competitions have been made and have thrown up some interesting ties for our local sides - as well as the usual array of ifs and buts.

In the FA Cup, the Rocks get a bye to the September 8 first qualifying round, where they will host Arundel, Epsom & Ewell or Three Bridges.

The Sussex League sides come in at the first hurdle - the August 11 extra preliminary round. Chichester City host Crowborough, Selsey go to Lancing and Pagham entertain Sevenoaks.

If successful the trio will go on to the August 25 preliminary round. Chichester would visit Chipstead if they got through, while Selsey would host Cobham or South Park and Pagham would go to Lordswood or Writh & Belvedere.

In the first round qualifying, Selsey, if still in, would be at home to Merstham or Walton and Hersham; Pagham would host Carshalton and Chichester would entertain Maidstone, Shoreham or Colliers Wood.

The Rocks are our only local team in the FA Trophy and the September 29 first qualifying round pits them at home to Ilford.

In the FA Vase, Selsey and Pagham are both in the first qualifying round on September 1 - the Blues are at Frimley Green and the Lions at Steyning.

In September 15’s second qualifying round Chichester will face the winners of the Steyning/Pagham game while Selsey would go to Mole Valley SCR or Sidley if they made it through.

In the first round proper, Selsey would be at home to Fisher, Canterbury or Greenwich, while Pagham or Chichester, if they were to get that far, would host Worthing United, Horsham YMCA, Westfield or Holmesdale.
