The Sussex County League Division Two outfit is searching for a successor to the previous managerial team of Tony Harris, Duncan Jones and Mat Ball, all of whom stood down at the end of the recently concluded season.

“We don’t like to leave it too long because we’ve got the presentation the following Saturday, and things need to be organised and we want to make sure we get the right decision with everything.

“I think we’ve got about five interested at the moment; two or three from outside the club and a couple from inside the club. I’m very pleased with the calibre of applicants.

“In 17 or 18 years we’ve only had three managers and we want to make sure it’s another long period of time before we have to change again.”

Westfield finished ninth in Sussex Division Two during the 2013/14 campaign and won the Hastings & District FA Senior Cup for the second time in the club’s history.
