Westfield game off; others on

The Sussex County Football League Division Two Challenge Cup quarter-final away to Oakwood has been called-off due to a waterlogged pitch, meaning Westfield still haven’t kicked a ball in anger since January 11.

Elsewhere, though, it’s good news for the area’s senior clubs as the rain has finally relented sufficiently to allow some football to be played. Hastings United will host fellow Ryman League Division One South promotion hopefuls Guernsey at The Pilot Field from 3pm.

Bexhill United’s match at home to Haywards Heath Town and Little Common’s visit from Midhurst & Easebourne in Sussex Division Two are both on after passing morning pitch inspections.

An early pitch inspection suggests Rye United’s game at home to Lancing in Division One is on, although the final decision will rest with the match referee. A number of ADA East Sussex Football League matches are off, but quite a few are set to go ahead.
