Westfield win; Bexhill beaten

It was mixed fortunes for the area’s two Macron Store Sussex County Football League team in action on Saturday.

Westfield picked up their first victory of the season - and Jethro Warren’s first as manager - with a 3-2 success at home to Midhurst & Easebourne in Division Two.

Ross Williams, Terry Payne and Sam Willett were on target for a Westfield side which is now unbeaten in three matches since its opening day loss to Wick & Barnham United.

Fellow Division Two side Bexhill United, however, lost 5-1 away to Lancing in round two of the Sussex County FA RUR Charity Cup.

The game was fairly even until Bexhill conceded twice in the 31st and 33rd minutes. Another quick double from Division One outfit Lancing in the 51st and 54th minutes put them 4-0 up.

Josh Elliott-Noye grabbed a consolation for Bexhill in the 63rd minute only for Lancing to add another three minutes later.
