Having been appointed yesterday (Sunday) following the dismissal of previous boss John Maggs and assistant Cliff Cant, White will take charge for the visit of Burgess Hill Town tonight.

The Parafix Sussex Senior Challenge Cup third round tie is expected to go ahead as things stand, although that could change if there is further significant rainfall this afternoon.

United groundsman Simon Rudkins wrote on social network site Twitter this morning: “Sunny now after early showers Pilot Field playable at the mo for tonight SSC game.”

The teams have already met twice this season in Ryman Football League Division One South. Fourth-placed United - who are three positions and five points above their opponents - earned a 1-1 away draw in August before coming from 2-0 down to win 3-2 in December’s home fixture.

Kick-off at The Pilot Field is 7.45pm and if you can’t make it to the game, you can get regular updates by following @SimonNewstead on Twitter.
