In their three remaining matches, Wick meet Mile Oak twice and the fifth-placed side trail them by just four points.

Wick have picked up just two points from their last four league matches and know they must improve if they are to seal promotion to Division 1.

Clive Piller fired Oakwood in front after 15 minutes on Tuesday.

Wick got themselves back into the contest 22 minutes later, though, when Dan Cox netted.

However, Piller struck for the home side three minutes after the break and this began a second-half onslaught.

Mark Gilbert made it 3-1 seven minutes later, before Darren Tidey made sure of Oakwood’s win on 62 minutes.

Tidey then bagged his second of the game 15 minutes from time to ensure an emphatic home success for Oakwood.

Wick travel to Mile Oak on Saturday and then host local rivals Rustington on Monday (11am).
