“It was an easy decision really. With everything we’ve set up in the last few years – the education programme with the Under 14s through to Under 16s – we want to carry on that good work, expand on that and build.

“We want to incorporate more youth teams, we want to work with the youth sides already doing an unbelievable job around Worthing – the likes of Dynamos and Strikers – to develop players from an early age.

“Knowing our plan for the future, it was an easy decision to want to stay and expand on our good work. I feel at home at the club. There’s some really good people here, I’ve been made to feel very welcome and wanted. Barry, George, and Nathan have all shown good faith in me and I look forward to working with them for the next three years.

“There’s been a some unbelievable work off the pitch; obviously getting the pitch done and sorted is massive for the club to be able to push on. The fans and the whole community came together during the first lockdown with our fundraiser (the Future’s Bright project) and that showed the potential the club has got.

“I want to stay here and help the club become ever bigger over the next few years."

Barry Hunter, club chairman, said: “Despite navigating through a very challenging period, the club has also ensured we put things in place to help us achieve our ambition of Elite level football in the National League divisions.

“Adam has proven he is capable of delivering this promotion and we have made sure he has enough time and focus in this full time contract to get us there. This is a huge boost for Worthing Football Club.

“We also recognise, as the club's head coach, the important role Adam plays in developing young local talent. This is a cornerstone of the clubs footballing philosophy and we know, with Adam at the helm, this is in very good hands.

“I would like to thank Adam for his decision to stay loyal to the club and the journey we are on and I’m sure he will recognise the significance of this contract and our belief in him at this level and beyond.

“I also want to thank the club's management committee for their continued efforts to progress the club off the park and prepare for Elite level football, not least with the extensive upgrade to the Crucial Environmental Stadium. We are all very excited to return, reunite with friends and cheer Adam and the team on. Come on you Rebels!”

Nathan Bowen, director of football, added: “I’m delighted to have Hinsh commit his future to us for another three years. Despite all the off-pitch uncertainty, we have have been making massive strides forward as a club and wish to continue building on our recent good work.

“Hinsh has been crucial in helping to develop a positive mindset and culture throughout the club and his experience has been invaluable. This is a huge statement of intent from us and I’m really looking forward to what the future holds.”
