Worthing get bonus point in home win

WORTHING Raiders Rugby Club cruised to a 30-8 victory at home to Henley on Saturday (March 5).

Two penalties from Matt McLean and a Greg Sullivan converted try moved Raiders into a 13-0 lead after 22 minutes.

Henley got a try back through Neil Baggett but Raiders got their second try late in the first half when Alex Nielsen went over.

Henley’s James Comben kicked a penalty to register the first points of the second half but Worthing soon added another try when McLean went over and then added the conversion himself.

Raiders got their fourth try and the bonus point with six minutes left when Nielsen kicked the ball to Sullivan, who touched down his second of the afternoon.

The win moved Raiders above Henley into seventh place.
