Young Chichester footballers are cup winners

CHICHESTER City under-14 girls won the Supplementary Cup final 2-0 against Ringmer at Wick and Barnham FC.

Their goalscorers were Tilly Gray and Lou Lou Robson.

At the end of a long season, Chichester had worked tirelessly and went into the final with confidence high.

They played with quality and the team philosophy and playing style was clear to see.

Robson gave Chichester the lead, stabbing home from close range.

Defensive discipline and three amazing saves by the goalkeeper kept the girls ahead at half-time.

In the second half, a defence-cutting pass opened the opportunity for club captain Gray to shoot past the keeper.

Ringmer went close again, but an outstretched right hand from the goalie kept the Chichester door shut.

The girls have now finished a very successful season and now have their first piece of silverware.

The team would like to thank the positive contributions from their fans, while the coaches praised parents and helpers and all who give up their free time to help make the season so positive.
