Felpham Colts 2 Rustington Otters Youth 1

A GAME against Rustington was set up as a title decider – with either team knowing a win would secure the prize. And it was Felpham who won the day.

Both teams started brightly with Rustington putting on more of the early pressure.

Felpham’s superb back four and goalkeeper mopped up well but after 20 minutes Rustington were given a penalty for handball which was converted.

The goal sparked Felpham into life and for the rest of the half they dominated.

At the start of the second half, Felpham pressurised and probed, though Rustington were denied a second by a superb save by Jake Aylward.

With 14 minutes left Felpham’s persistence paid off as they made it 1-1 after Noah Chisholm and Ronald Kardos set up Kieron Skinner.

Felpham kept on attacking and with six minutes to go they took the lead through a coll run and finish by Skinner.

After what seemed like the longest six minutes in history, the final whistle came – along with the victory and the league title.

The Colts have worked so hard all season, being dedicated and composed. Their coaches and parents spoke of their pride in the boys.

Bognor Town 5 Whyke Orange 2

Bognor’s patient play was rewarded when Parkinson broke the deadlock. This was followed swiftly by a Lintott goal, smashed in so powerfully the keeper couldn’t keep it out.

Whyke were given a questionable penalty which was put securely away. Bognor restored the two-goal lead as Lintott weaved through to score. Whyke responded again to take the score to 3-2 before Parkinson secured his hat-trick with two identical goals.

Bognor Town 5 Barnham 2

The first goal fell to Bognor from a great cross from a free-kick by Swanson which perfectly fell to Hauxwell, who rose to head home.

Lintott was next on the scoresheet .

Barnham’s skipper converted a penalty given for handball. But soon Lintott’s header towards goal from Parksinson’s cross took a deflection and went in.

Barnham pulled it back to 3-2 but Parkinson scored a trademark goal and Lintott sealed the three points with a poacher’s goal to make it 5-2.

Bognor Town 3 Adur 1

Bognor were desperate for the three points to have any chance of winning the league – and they got them.

Parkinson showed great individual skill, beating five players before drilling the ball home.

Bognor opened the second half full of determination. Greece-Harbour, Parkinson and Hauxwell set up Lintott for a 30-yard half-volley into the net.

Adur pulled a goal back but Bognor responded well as Bennett found Parkinson, who took the ball past the keeper and netted.

Bognor need to win the next two games for any chance of winning the league.

Barnham Trojans 2 Chichester Colts 0

Barnham Trojans crossed the line to secure the A division title with a win against a strong and organised Chichester team.

The game was in the balance before Allen smashed an effort against the bar and the ever-reliable Brady was there to gobble up the rebound. Brady gave Trojans the breathing space they craved with a superb individual second goal.

Trodd was outstanding for Trojans with Ratcliffe dominating the midfield. With Chichester pressure mounting, Boniface made a superb save from an Evans effort and the points were secured.

This team were bottom of the league after the first three league games. Captained superbly by Jelley, they have secured the double in an extremely tight league.

Ratton Rangers 2 Chichester City Colts 0

The county cup final involved two teams who had never won it and the atmosphere at Lancing was buzzing.

Fifteen minutes in, a Rangers player slid a ball past the Chichester keeper to make it 1-0.

Chichester put pressure on the Rangers goal and Taylor Parker’s fantastic strike was cleared off the line.

The Chichester defence were largely solid against the Rangers attack but a Rangers free-kick led to their second goal.

Colts manager Ash Rochester said: “I’m extremely proud of the lads this season. We will work on our fitness over the summer and come back in the autumn to aim for another great season.”
