Horsham’s under-16s suffered League Cup semi-final heartbreak for the second consecutive season, with a 4-1 defeat to Summerley Park Rangers. In their first action of 2013, Ben Legg was tested first in goal. A close range finish put Rangers ahead, and the hosts built on that in the second half, until Horsham grabbed their consolation when a defender deflected in Callum Nash’s corner.

In freezing temperatures Horsham Sparrows Under-12s produced a red-hot performance to beat Crawley Wasps 6-0. Maddie Gray gave Sparrows the lead after only three minutes, and after continuing to press went into half-time 2-0 up thanks to a goal from Charlie Simpson.

In the second half Wasps came out strongly, but another goal from Charlie Simpson made it 3-0. Just three minutes later Ava Hutson made it four, before a Sparrows penalty was saved only for Alice Tofts to pounce on the rebound making. Sparrows were reduced to six players for the rest of the match but still Issy Donnelly added a sixth late on. Charley Simpson was player of the match for Sparrows.
