Glynde & Beddingham* 213-8 St James’s Montefiore 185-7
GLYNDE drew at home to St James’s Montefiore on Saturday.
Batting first at home having won the toss, Glynde posted a target of 213-8 off 53 overs. Dominic Shepheard was unbeaten on 91 having come in at first wicket down, when openers Joe Adams (21) and Chris Stanyard (33) had put on an opening stand of 54.
Shepheard put on a mammoth third wicket stand of 121 with No 4 batter Rob Mouland, who made 54 before being trapped lbw by George Taylor, who took 3-43.
But from 183-2, when Mouland got out, Glynde’s middle and lower order barely managed to score another run, with three players getting out for ducks. Former Lewes Priory captain Michael Murray took 3-34 for Saints.
In reply, St James’s were reduced to 81-4 before Mike Edmonds and Sam Cooper put on 69 runs to help them on their way to a fairly comfortable draw. Edmonds top scored by some margin with 76.
Dale Tranter was Glynde’s best bowler, as he took 4-51.
Three Bridges 210-7 dec (51.4 ov; Conor Golding 52; Matt Keen 4-56) beat Goring By Sea* 67 (29.2 ov; Dan Kearney 10; Danny Alderman 3-8 off six) by 143 runs.
Findon 141 (45 ov; Jack Metters 71; Declan Hoare 4-48, Dan Strange 4-40) lost to Haywards Heath* 142-5 (43 ov; Declan Hoare 57*, James Iago 4-29) by five wickets.
Ifield* 180-8 dec (52.5 ov; Simon Hickey 39; Josh Hayward 3-79) drew with Cuckfield 177-7 (47 ov; Sarel Erwee 106*; Russell Jacob 2-44).
Pulborough* 284-2 dec (41 ov; Rohit Jagota 202*; Paul Swannell 1-49) beat Sidley 129 (32.1 ov; John Haffenden 32; Kuldeep Rawat 6-35) by 156 runs.
