Atchley and Coronation Cups at Haywards Heath Golf Club

Once again the weather remained kind for the autumn meeting of the Atchley and Coronation Cups.

This competition is a mixed foursomes medal competition in which the ladies invite a gentleman member as a partner.

A very popular event it is always fiercely contested. A large field of 40 couples took part in this bi-annual event, it is normally very close, however the pair of Jo Kernohan and Dan Simpson had a brilliant round of 71 with 2 birdies and an eagle at the 8th hole.

On a combined handicap of 5.5 it resulted in a nett score of 65.5 enabling them to win both the scratch competition (Coronation Cup) and the Nett competition (Atchley Cup). Their closest rivals were Andy Plowright and Fiona Spencer with a nett result of 70.
