The day’s events were celebrated by more than 150 members from both the golf club and the health club and consisted of a golf competition and a barbecue laid on in the exquisite courtyard surroundings.

The competition was a Texas scramble played in teams of four and was won by the team of Rosie Hickie, Miro Gorfol, Jason Davey and Rob Groves with a terrific score of 54.8.

Hickie thanked owner Matthew Rogerson for putting on a great day, including the lovely food and drink and the green keepers for the terrific course conditioning.

Rogerson was humbled by the tremendous support of the event and the flood of thanks from the members.

He also told the story that as farming the land became so challenging in the early 1970s, he and his father Michael, who were both keen golfers, dreamt of building a golf course.

Now 40 years later they are proud to have an established 27 holes of golf along with a hotel and health club which is known for being one of the premier country clubs in the local area.

Cottesmore has undergone a substantial investment program over the last two years which is culminating in two of its greatest assets being overhauled.

The new 18 and nine hole layouts along with a brand new pool, spa and wet area are due to open at the end of the month, which Cottesmore hopes will bring them success for the next 40 years.
