The course was still very wet but the greens were in very good condition considering the weather.

Scoring was quite close for the places but the overall winner with a fine nett 28 was Geoff Rowlands. Second place was Derek West, on countback from Trevor Body in third, both with nett 30.

The prize for the best outfit went to George Schneider for the best pair of Christmas hotpants seen in a long time.

A special presentation went to Pete Byers for all his hard work running the Monday and Friday thrash over the years.

Meanwhile Willingdon GC’s seniors’ section held their final competition of the year. It was very well attended with more than 40 entrants.
