Andy Main, meanwhile, has claimed his 12th club championship at the age of 55 after rounds of 72 and 70 saw him finish four shots clear of Aaron Peacock and Rohan Miah.

Lying fourth after the first round he made few mistakes off the gold tees and made sure of the Ulster Cup with a sublime birdie on the 18th where his pitch finished three feet from the pin.

Miah three putted the last for 75 and 146, thus conceding runners-up spot on countback to Peacock who carded two 73s.

The Bert Galleymore Trophy for best nett score went to six-handicap Elliot Cloy, whose superb second round 66 gave him an aggregate 139 and beat Paul Gridley by three. Steve Pye was third a shot behind.

Earlier, Rosemary Williams claimed two trophies in eight days.

A fine round of 39 points earned her the Grannies Rose Bowl and despite having her 24 handicap cut by two shots she then took the Mary Hunt Salver with a nett 78.
