Evans finished tied 23rd in the Shankai Classic at Chongqing Poly Golf Club, an event which was reduced from 72 holes to 54 because of bad weather.

The 27-year-old began with a level par round of 72 in which he mixed five birdies with five bogeys and followed that with a bogey-free two-under 70.

Evans, of Rye and Sedlescombe Golf Clubs, moved up seven places courtesy of a three-under final round 69 containing three birdies and one bogey. That gave him a five-under total of 211.
