Goodwood golfer celebrates a sixth spot at Disabled British Open

Goodwood golfer Derek Rogers missed out on the title at the yourgolftravel.com Disabled British Open as the championship went north of the border for the first time.

Rogers, a 16-handicapper, finished in a tie for sixth in his category and in a tie for 31st overall as Scotland’s Alasdair Berry finally took the title he’d come so close to winning in the past.

The Disabled British Open was conceived in 2009 and delivered by the Accentuate project, funded by SEEDA and the Legacy Trust UK, to create a lasting legacy after the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games.

Highlights of the open will be shown on Sky Sports on Tuesday, September 18 (7pm and 11pm) and Wednesday 19 (9am and midday).
