H&B will entertain Vigo tomorrow (Saturday) in a clash of the teams lying second and third in the early Kent One league table.

Brooks said: “I’m expecting it to be the toughest game of the season so far. It will be a difficult game on Saturday and Vigo are a forwards-dominated outfit, and as far as I’m concerned it’s even more important we move the ball out and run them ragged.”

H&B and Vigo head a posse of seven clubs who have won two and lost one of their opening three league fixtures.

Brooks is pleased with the progress H&B have made since their narrow opening day defeat at home to Old Williamsonians.

“We’re on a decent improvement curve,” he continued. “I’m pleased; we’ve just got to keep the momentum going. Probably the main crux of the game at the moment is to recycle the ball quicker.

“We need to protect the ball better and get it away quicker as well because we do allow other teams to slow us down at times.”

Kick-off at Ark William Parker Academy is 3pm after Vigo asked for it to be put back an hour from the scheduled 2pm time.
