H&B have won their last three matches in all competitions and have conceded just five points in their last two games.

“I think the technical aspects of our game are improving week on week,” said H&B head coach Brooks. “There’s a great mix of experience and youth, and the young guys are getting cleverer by the week.

“Bearing in mind we’re looking to develop the team this season, I’m happy with the way things are going.”

After their London & SE Junior Vase victory at home to Petersfield last weekend, H&B will return to Kent One action with a trip to New Ash Green tomorrow (Saturday).

Fourth-placed H&B will be targeting a bonus point win against a bottom-of-the-table New Ash Green side which has lost all of its eight league matches so far and conceded 325 points.

“That’s one we’ve got to win,” added Brooks, who believes his team has benefited from playing every week since the World Cup finished after a stop-start beginning to the season.

“We always say there are no easy games in any league these days and as long as you go out there with that mentality, it tends to rub off in the performance.”
