H&B just one win from play-off

HASTINGS & Bexhill firmly laid the ghost of last season's embarrassing defeat to lowly Hellingly with a thumping 57-0 win.

The two points has put H&B on the brink of a promotion play-off showdown and another success from either of the Sussex League matches against Pulborough or Seaford would do the trick.

Assistant coach Rob Hamilton said: "We played very well. It's always difficult to compare another performance but it must be close to one of our most effective games of the season."

Seb Halligan was undoubtedly the star of the show, running in four second half tries to secure the Morgan & Lamplugh man of the match award.

The other scorers were Ben Woolcott, Steve McManus, Jimmy Adams, Ben Campbell and Dave Milham, while Adams kicked six conversions.

H&B play a friendly at home to London League Division Four Heathfield on Saturday March 22.
