H&B mini festival attacts 1,000 children

HASTINGS & Bexhill rugby club had one of their best ever results at their own Mini Festival on Sunday, winning two of the six age groups.

With over 1,000 boys and girls from a dozen Kent and Sussex clubs competing in the Observer-sponsored annual event, wins by the H&B u8s against old rivals Eastbourne in the final, and the u9s against Lewes, demonstrated just how the club's mini section has developed in recent years.

The u9s clinched the trophy with a 1-0 win over Lewes in the final, the only try coming from Cameron Davies to take his festival tally to six. Other try-scorers were Leo Torr (3), Lewis Swoffer (2), Will Phelps, Harry Foster and Jake Woolley.
