H&B tackle local rivals

HASTINGS & Bexhill will be looking to get their Sussex Rugby League Division One campaign back on track at home to local rivals Rye on Saturday October 27.

H&B crashed 15-3 to Hellingly in their last match, and have now lost two of their opening four games.

Assistant coach Rob Hamilton said: I think we should beat Rye but it s a local derby and they ll be up for it more than usual.

It s probably their biggest game of the season and they ve already taken a few sides close this season so it might turn out to be a bit of a dogfight.

Paul Sandeman s early penalty proved to be H&B s only points against Hellingly.

Trailing 5-3 at half-time, they were forced into playing catch-up rugby and a mistake at the back let in Hellingly for the only try of the game.

Steve Pepper and Andy hitch return for the local derby at William Parker, kick-off 3pm.
