HEATH SINK PIRATES' BOAT

PORTSLADE Cricket Club failed to take full advantage of a winning opportunity against Broadbridge Heath on Saturday.In Sam Jones first game as captain, Portslade '” who nicknamed themselves Portslade Pirates last season '” were cruising along at 100-2 before a massive mid-order collapse saw Portslade fall to 174 all out '” chasing 197 to win.

Jones was the first man out when he smashed a shot down the square leg fielder's throat for 35. That made the score 55-1. Rhys Grosvenor and Martin Aylward took the score up to 84 before the collapse began.
