HEATHFIELD & Waldron RFC is celebrating a successful weekend of hard work, thanks to the volunteers who came to lend a helping hand to the club’s RBS RugbyForce Weekend.
Everyone worked together to help the club prepare for the 2012/13 season by carrying out its summer club maintenance and repairs as part of the RBS RugbyForce Weekend programme.
HWRFC welcomed the willing volunteers and players from the club, who together worked to help with maintenance and simple repairs. RBS RugbyForce 2012 provided HWRFC with £250, tee shirts, banners and wall plaque, to help them plan and deliver a day of DIY to improve the clubs facilities. This year 278 clubs across England registered to take part in the programme.
Dave Rhodes, club president/captain said: “What a result! The weekend has made a huge difference to the club, both in the work that was carried out and the way it helped us bond with our members and supporters, new and old.
On behalf of HWRFC I want to say a massive thank you to those who took part, we are very grateful for the time and efforts of everyone who took part.”
RBS RugbyForce is a cornerstone of RBS’s sponsorship of the RBS 6 Nations Championship, seeing RBS support the sport at every level.
Martyn Wilson, RBS Group Sponsorship Manager, said: “We are delighted that HWRFC had a successful and fun weekend with their members, supporters and wider community at RBS RugbyForce Weekend.
“They’ve done a great job of gathering local support and the results speak for themselves. We were happy to seed the project with some tools, advice and incentives, but I really have to hand it to the local membership for a job well done. We look forward to receiving feedback from all of this year’s participating clubs so next year we can work on improving the programme to make it even stronger.”
