Hebs leads victory charge

LITTLEHAMPTON Cricket Club returned to winning ways with a thrilling win at Bexhill on Saturday.

Electing to bat, Bexhill piled up 274 all out from only 47 overs after recovering from a position of 153-7.

Australian wicketkeeper-batsman Josh McLean smashed 140 from 129 balls and hit 23 fours before he was last man out. He shared a 107-run eighth-wicket stand with Simon Bulteel, who struck 61 from 39 balls with four fours and five sixes.

Adam Tester was the main victim of the big hitting with his 10 overs going for 74, although he bowled well and deservedly took three wickets. Left-arm spinner, Chris Hanks, also got three wickets, including the scalp of McLean '” stumped behind by the bowler's brother Stuart.
