HENRY IS LANCING'S PROVIDER

IT WAS a local RUR double on Saturday when lowly-placed County League second-division opposition were shown the exit door. First-division United ought not to have been troubled by Peacehaven and so it proved, while Lancing were able to show in extra-time that they have the edge in quality over Wealden in their all-second division clash.

Mark Henry had a hand in all three Lancing goals. Jim Devers dived to head home Henry's 67th-minute cross for Lancing, then had an effort cleared off the Wealden line before Doug Lloyd equalised in the 78th minute from a non-cleared corner.

Devers then made it 2-1 seven minutes into extra-time after exchanging passes with Henry and sub Tom Cita, 21, despatched the clincher, left-footed, five minutes from the end, from Henry's through pass.
