Hickstead wins major television coverage

Hickstead has signed a new, three-year agreement with BBC Television to cover the DFS Derby.

The news comes with figures which show that the television audience for the Derby and the Bunn Leisure Speed Derby this year, 2006, topped one million for the second year in succession.

Michael Cole, deputy editor of BBC's Grandstand programme, said of the DFS Derby: "It represents the very best of international show jumping, but more than that, it's one of the great sporting events of the British summer.

With the signature Derby Bank it's an event that appeals to those who love the sport, but also to those who come to show jumping just once a year."
