The quintet booked their places at Bath University in February by recording top 12 finishes at the South East Regional Biathlon Competition in Horsham on October 29.

Hunnisett finished second in the year seven girls' section, Rose fourth and Morgan 12th in the year eight girls' category, Hucker fifth in the year 10 girls' version and Bergin fourth in the year 11 girls' staging.

Rose and Morgan also spearheaded the school's charge to third place in the year eight girls' team standings, with 16th-placed Megan Alsop completing the successful trio. Lauren Hunnisett took part in the year 10 girls' competition.

The event comprised a 1,000m run for all age groups, plus a 50m swim for pupils in years seven and eight or a 100m swim for those in years 10 and 11.
