HIGHTON HAMMERS HAT-TRICK PAST YAPTON

JAMES HIGHTON'S hat-trick ensured a comfortable victory for Rustington in the first defence of their three cups on Saturday.

From the moment Highton put Rustington ahead on 25 minutes, the result was never in doubt. Rustington had missed early chances to go in front, mainly thanks to some excellent saves by Yapton keeper Scott Austin.

Austin made a wondersul double save from Ryan Morten then Mike Hatch on 25 minutes, only for Highton to smash the ball home left-footed from six yards. It was Highton who doubled the lead nine minutes later with a cool finish across Austin after persistent play by Sean Duffy.
