Thunder host Reading Rockets in National League Division 1 on Saturday and then entertain Team Northumbria on Sunday and Hildreth knows his side must secure victory in one, if not both, of the matches.

He said: “They’re two very exciting games for the crowd I’m sure but, hopefully, will be two wins also.

“There’s a long history between us and Reading.

“We had a very controversial game with them in the cup and I am hoping we will be able to reverse the outcome of the three meetings we have had this year, all in Reading.

“Either way, we won’t have long to recover as it’s another double-header weekend.

“Team Northumbria have had a great run in the league so far and, despite still having to play a majority of the top four teams, they are looking good contenders to finish the season well.”

Thunder suffered a third successive defeat, with a 92-77 loss at Kent Crusaders on Saturday. The defeat saw Thunder drop a place to eighth in the league.
