Historic Findon Cricket Club welcomes new members

AN historic cricket club is looking for a membership boost. Enthusiasts are welcome to join Findon Cricket Club, founded in 1867, which enjoys a beautiful setting north of Worthing,in the heart of the Sussex Downs.

It has become one of the most successful village clubs in Sussex, situated just outside the village off the Long Furlong road.

The club is eager to attract new senior and junior players for the 2009 season.

It runs three Saturday senior league sides - the 1st and 2nd team play in the Sussex County League Division 3 West, and the 3rd team will be playing in the West Sussex Invitation League.

The club also enters the National Village Knockout Competition, and has reached the semi finals twice and the final at Lords in 2007.

Italso has an extremely well run and thriving junior section, and runs all age groups from under 9's to under 16's, in addition to a girls team, which won the Lady Taverners competition in 2008.

The club philosophy is "Good cricket, good friends and good beer".
