Entries are up on last year’s figures. The ladies’ competitions have all shown good increases, while the men’s competitions and the open triples have more than held their own.

Several of the players have received county and national honours so once again the standard will remain very high.

The tournament committee is indebted to main sponsor, Croft Glass Ltd, together with other sponsors The Brickwall Hotel at Sedlescombe, Mr Don Softley and chartered accountants Gibbons Mannington & Phipps.

The committee also owes a great deal to all the businesses that have advertised in the tournament programme and those who have generously donated prizes to the daily raffle.

Weekly overstay parking permits and numbered concession tickets for free deckchairs and some council amenities will be available to those eligible and can be claimed from the tournament office from today onwards.

Official programmes, together with competition draws, have been sent out together with details of the ever-popular Charity Tournament being held on Sunday September 27. Entries for this event will close on Wednesday August 26.
