The preparation squad acrobats and club tumblers competed on the first day, and they achieved a fantastic haul of eight gold, four silver and five bronze medals. Most of these gymnasts are very new to competing and for some it was their very first time.

Poppy Sterrick and Phoebe Barham won the shield for the highest score of the competition for their spectacular regional level two acrobatic routine.

The medals continued in grade two with the women’s groups as the new trio of Bethany Heys, Hannah Dine and Lucy Legg produced a gold-winning routine.

Leon Ercegovic and Kelsey Durling scooped Hollington's only medal at grade three, a silver, for their mixed pair routine.

It was a 2-3 finish in the grade four women’s groups, with Emilie King, Violet Cuming and Sienna Spice pipping Emily Kennedy, Tia West and Kyla West to silver. Both trios produced some excellent routines.

The day was finished off with more success from the host club’s high level gymnasts, who had to perform two routines.
