The Hornets have seen plenty of comings and goings and injuries over the first half of the season having used 27 different players.

Jordan Clark and Scott Murfin are the two major absentees from the start of the campaign, having joined Worthing and Pagham respectively.

Niall O’Hagan and Ryan Storrie have also left, while incoming have been Terry Dodd, Graham Martin and Jack Rowe-Hurst amongst others.

Some have played bit-part roles and youth teamers have also been called up to the bench to add to that figure of 27 players.

Boss Di Paola is now hoping he can start putting out a regular starting line-up, having been only able to name the same team in back-to-back games once so far the season.

He said: “I am hoping we get a settled side now over the remainder of the season, as it was a bit all over the place with players last year.

“It is only Kevin Keehan injured still, everyone else is fit, so we go into the new year with a squad of 17, which is a good thing.”

Horsham travel to the Enclosed Ground to face Whitehawk in the third round of the Sussex Senior Cup on Tuesday night.

Di Paola added: “Realistically I saw our best chances of beating Whitehawk either this week or the week when they were in the FA Cup, when they might have rested a few players.

“Now they are out of that and the FA Vase, all they have left is the league and the Senior Cup, and it’s a big day out for their club as well, even though they are a bigger club.”
