The club is seeking to build a new home at land near Hop Oast and is currently in discussions with Horsham District Council with a view to formalising architectural plans.

Hornets chief executive John Lines has again reiterated that a full consultation will take place with neighbouring Parish Councils and Horsham residents affected by the plans, along with those near the Holbrook Club, where some new housing will be built as part of the overall plans.

Planning applications for both sites are yet to be submitted and are still “some way off”, he said.

Mr Lines said: “At the moment we only have draft plans, we are yet to formalise proper architectural plans so at the moment we are not in a place to make them public.

“Further discussions are needed with HDC’s planning office but I want to make it absolutely clear that once the plans are done we will have a full consultation with local residents and parish councils.”
