Horsham Go Tri aquathlon a roaring success

Go Tri event, a welcome sight after the heavy rain forecast throughout the week.

The Aquathlon event, consisting of a 200m pool swim and a 3.4km run was a roaring success for Horsham Tri Club as their first self organised event.

It was good to see the event was supported from the sidelines by Jenny Vincent of Triathlon England and Horsham District Council sports development officer Ian Ford.

The competitors, aged between 14 and 56-years-old, arrived at Pavilions in the Park with excitement, anticipation and quite a few nerves, for many this was their first experience of a multisport event.

Nonetheless they all cheered each other on and completed the course with plenty of smiles.

The fastest male of the very first Horsham Go Tri was Peter Lines from Fareham in a time of 18:53, the fastest female was last minute entrant Lisa Fenn from Horsham in a time of 22:08.
