They went on to play a very powerful Scunthorpe team in the final and ran out 10-0 winners.

Both wingers ran in tries, summing up a day of brilliant running rugby to clinch the trophy.

The U16s fared just as well, beating Dutch Academy 24-7, Cleckeaton 24-0 and Pontyclum 17-0 in their pool stage. They then went on to play a semi-final against the talented South Gower winning 7-0.

The team, tired and lacking in numbers, went on to play in a high quality final against a talented team from Combe Down, Bath in front of a very lively crowd. Despite their exhaustion Horsham battled it out to a 5-0 win.

Horsham RFC Chairman John Riley said: “These two wins are something the whole of Horsham should be very proud of.

“The future of Horsham RFC is very bright.”
