Horsham will feel they should have won the game, though the visitors struck a post with a very kickable late penalty as the match finished 11-11.

Coach Nick Stocker was left frustrated at not taking all the points having felt his side dominated the match.

He said: “We were so dominant in every respect. Their coach said I must have been pulling my hair out with the amount of mistakes we made, we gave them every single one of their points.

“We created enough ourselves but let chances slip, it was just lacklustre.”

Horsham’s try came in the second half, when Aled Price made a lovely break and beat three players before releasing the always electric Jamie Gibbs for a try in the corner.

Price slotted over a penalty, and when an Uckfield drop goal was missed it looked like Horsham would take the win. But Miller made amends with another three pointer to bring the scores level at 11-11.

And right at the death Miller had the chance to snatch victory for the visitors, but his kick in front of the posts struck the woodwork as it ended a draw.

It leaves Horsham in seventh, on equal points with sixth-placed Uckfield with fifth-placed Bromley four points better off. Stocker added: “We can still get fifth, Bromley have some tough games.”
